OK – so the homeless lose everything and are living on the street or river bottom or whatever – what do they do with their animal? The rescue groups are full, the friends and family might not be able to help, what’s left? Hmmm, there is the shelter… so they’ve lost everything and now they might be sending their trusting friend to their death. Not a choice I would ever wish on my enemies (if I had any and I pray I don’t). And God bless these people, doing what they can to protect the ones that are completely dependent on them. I’ve been entrenched in animal rescue for 15 years-I’ve seen too many heartless “homed” people treat their animals like objects that should be discarded when inconvenient. Check out the euthanasia statistics for support. It is my goal to start doing what I can in my city to help these people and their furry companions. After 15 years I can now help people as well as animals.

I love your writing and read it often. I, too had a mother that made it impossible to connect with. She died last May and sadly, I mourned the mother I never had.

Like you I worked like someone was chasing me. Every moment of every day was spent trying to be the best. When she died, I realized the person chasing me was her. I wanted to make her notice me and be proud of me. Sadly it never happened.

I am free now but at the same time….Lost

Keep on writing dear friend, you are an inspiration to people you don’t even know.

Happy birthday! Love the car! I have always wanted a VW van, but the stick thing is a horrible hurdle for me. I think it took me something like 6 years to get my license in an automatic. lol

Happy birthday!! Great car too and glad you finally own a bug. I had a newish model myself a few years ago but had to give it up for moving overseas. Now that I’m back I would love another one. Hope you enjoy yours and that it is more reliable!

Very nice Bri…great choice! I’ve recently been prowling http://thesamba.com looking for Type II buses. I used to own a ‘73 camper and selling that has been a huge regret of mine for many years.

…don’t worry about learning to drive a manual too much, the ‘old v dubs are the easiest ones to learn because they’re internal mechanics are very forgiving:)

Oh, fun! My mom gave up inviting me to the Memorial after 7 or 8 years, but she still mentions it casually in conversation (assemblies, too.. how “wonderful” & “spiritually refreshed” she feels…ROFL!!). I think we j-dub survivors should claim back March 30 as our own holiday.
